Getting Started

Creating Your Account

To get started with Nutriguide, download the mobile app and create an account. You can sign up using:

  • Email and password
  • Apple Sign-In (iOS)
  • Google account
  • Facebook account

Scanning Products

Use the barcode scanner to quickly get nutrition information:

  1. Open the Nutriguide app
  2. Tap the camera icon to open the scanner
  3. Point your camera at the product barcode
  4. View detailed nutrition information instantly

Managing Shopping Lists

Create and manage multiple shopping lists:

  • Create a new list from the Shopping Lists screen
  • Add items by scanning products or searching
  • Check off items as you shop
  • Duplicate or merge lists as needed

Dietary Preferences

Set your dietary preferences to get personalized recommendations:

  • Halal: Filter for Halal-certified products
  • Kosher: Find Kosher-certified foods
  • Vegetarian/Vegan: Identify plant-based options
  • GMO-Free: Filter out genetically modified ingredients

Allergen Management

Track allergens to stay safe:

  • Set your allergen preferences in your profile
  • Get warnings when products contain your allergens
  • Track 9 major allergens: Milk, Eggs, Fish, Shellfish, Tree Nuts, Peanuts, Wheat, Soy, and Sesame

Nutrition Tracking

Monitor your daily nutrition intake:

  • Set daily calorie goals
  • Track macronutrients (protein, carbs, fats)
  • Monitor sugar, sodium, and fat limits

Troubleshooting

Barcode Scanner Not Working

If the scanner isn't working:

  • Ensure camera permissions are enabled in your device settings
  • Make sure there's adequate lighting
  • Hold the camera steady and ensure the barcode is in focus
  • Try cleaning your camera lens
  • You can also manually enter the barcode number

Product Not Found

If a product isn't in our database:

  • Try searching by product name instead of scanning
  • Check if the product is available in your region
  • Our database is constantly growing - check back later
  • Contact support to request product addition

Account Issues

Having trouble with your account?

  • Use "Forgot Password" if you can't log in
  • Check your email for password reset links
  • Ensure you're using the correct email address
  • Contact support if social login isn't working

App Crashes or Freezes

If the app is not responding:

  • Close and restart the app
  • Update to the latest version from the App Store or Google Play
  • Restart your device
  • Clear app cache (Android) or reinstall the app
  • Check your internet connection
